A child might tell his mother what his older brother was doing wrong at school….sapeando.
As the police left the scene of the fight during the soccer game one could hear people yelling ’sapos’!
I learned a new expression today….’caer como un sapo’….to fall like a toad, as in, arms outstretched. apparently people also say ‘to fall like a cow.’
Then there is this cute little joke, which works best when spoken.
All the animals were gathered together and the lion said, ‘Let’s have a big party!’ and the toad said, ‘YES, WE’LL HAVE A BIG PARTY!’
The lion said, ‘and we’ll have lots of food’ ‘YES’ said the toad, ‘LOTS OF FOOD!’
The lion was getting annoyed. ‘And we won’t invited any animals with big mouths,’ he announced.
‘But what about the poor crocodiles?’ said the toad in a tiny voice.
