Bolivia again

September 25th, 2009

For me it was a wildly unusual juxtaposition of wealth and poverty, of color, of nature and civilization, of language, of political views, and well, it seems just about anything.  And yet I bet there were more similarities than differences.

  2. Homeless people sleeping in the streets, people asking for money, fear that people feel when they are told they must have an operation (even a simple one), license plates! stop signs! (same design, different language), barking dogs, people who want to talk and talk (just like me!), people who want to talk but can’t hear very well and so they guess at what your question was, people with strong ideas, horses, health care problems, a president that a large chunk of the country doesn’t like, wind, rain, sun, churches where the gospel was preached, churches in trouble because of power struggles, people who know something is bad for them but do it anyway, people who procrastinate, people who crochet pretty doilies, newspapers….ok, that was fun!

  4. Wow how odd that you would remember and think of Aunt Judy’s wedding. Its the first one I thought of also but your grandmother had one in the desk that some missionary gave her. I wonder what ever happened to it.
Our church is on the edge of a big split also. Sometimes I wonder why the Lord puts up with Christians at all!
Do you really like to talk a lot? I thought you Weeks girls were shy?

  5. Are you joking about the shy part?

What is your church splitting over? Are they officially planning to split?
