Pluto: Alone in the Dark

August 24th, 2006

Brothers and sisters of this vast orbiting solar system we call home — unite!

Stand and prepare to battle against the injustice that has been done to Earth’s remote little brother.

Pluto, cherished by millions for nearly eighty years, has been ruthlessly thrown out by the cold and obdurate astronomers and physicists of the scientific community, who are attempting to re-write history, caring not who or what gets cast aside.  The transient thoughts of today’s academic elite, constituting a mere drop in the intellectual bucket filled throughout the centuries, have been allowed to blight the collective tradition that our fathers held dear.

We cannot allow such a travesty to go unchallenged.  Let the scientific radicals see the state of moral isolation into which they have trapped themselves.

Let us not judge by the shape of Pluto’s orbit, but by its place in our hearts.
Together we can prevent this unseemly humiliation of diversity in the very sight of the sun.

Let our grassroots movement reach to the stars.

  1. Yeah, and how am I supposed to get “My very extravagant mother just brought us nine puppies/pizzas” out of my head??

  4. Jess, I don’t think you’re going to have that hard of a time - what does the ‘b’ in brought stand for anyway?

For a new mnemonic, how about “My Very Evil Mother Just Served Us Nothing”?

or “My Very Elegant Mnemonic Just Stops Under Nine”

  5. I think Jess and CJ are both being way too accepting of this dreadful turn of events.

    Save Pluto!

  6. I meant sent, not brought.

  7. I understand, Jess, that you are so upset over this heinous rejection of reason that you can barely think straight, let alone write. It is happening to all of us. I myself caught an error today on this very post.
