August 9th, 2006The birds are above on the feeder—
Fluttering wings,
Feathers ruffled,
Feasting.
The squirrels are below—
Flirting tails,
Ferreting out fallen seeds,
Fattening.
The cat crouches silently in the bushes—
Unmoving.
Unhurried.
Forgotten.
