  1. This statement was made on November 30, 1943, during a meeting attended by Roosevelt & Stalin.

    The main topic was operation “Overlord”, the planned cross-channel invasion of France, and necessary supporting operations. Between the Russians, the British, and the Americans, the hope was that the German armies would be attacked on 3 sides. Of course it was better that the Germans not know any of this, and so it was necessary to devise “joint cover and deception schemes.”
