Snags

1) Early in the first of my back-to-back classes this morning I realized I was missing an important tape. As soon as class was over I quickly shoved the cart into the next room and went speed-walking down the hall to my desk in the planning room. No tape. The science room? I abandoned all pretense of dignity, ran over, hopped up on the table, and tore open the cabinet door. There it was! I went flying back down the hall to class, breathlessly thinking that floating isn’t always as fun as I make it out to be.

2) During a brief race-cart stint this morning, one of the magazine racks on the middle level of the cart fell off. While these racks have never fallen before, they have tilted alarmingly. I think I have solved that problem by cramming teacher’s editions in on either side. They support the row of racks and are now easy-access.

3) I’m not quite sure what to do about the overhead transparency annoyance. (The fancy technology solution is rather expensive.) The easiest way to clean a used transparency is to hold it under running water. But then drying is a slow process. Maybe I need to think bigger and bring in a couple of cloth towels. That and accept the fact that life is full of unpleasant chores…
